Amritha - 2010 Notification

Amrita Entrance Examination - Engineering 2010»
Amrita University offers B.Tech. programmes in eight branches at the three Schools of Engineering located at Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Coimbatore. The University has been conducting its engineering entrance examination every year in various cities across the country. The entrance exam for the next academic year is scheduled for Sunday, 2nd May 2010. The exam will be conducted in 77 cities. Application forms can be had from selected branches of AXIS Bank, Dhanalakshmi Bank & State Bank of Hyderabad. Candidates can also apply online. All the details about the entrance exam are given in the handbook which can be downloaded from amrita.edu.

The entrance exam is of 3 hour duration. Seat allotment is done through counselling and is based on the rank obtained by the candidates in the Amrita Entrance Examination – Engineering 2010.

Eligibility Criteria for 2010 Entrance Exam»
Age: Candidates shall be born on or after 1st July 1989.

Qualification: – A pass in the final examination of 10+2 (class XII ) or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks separately in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
(OR)
A three year diploma in engineering with minimum 60% marks,awarded by any State Board of Technical Exam.

Eligibility: LIST OF QUALIFYING EXAMINATIONS

i) The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.

ii) Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.

iii) Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.

iv) Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.

v) H.S.C. Vocational Examination.

vi) A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.

vii) 3 or 4-year diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education

Note: Those appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination may also appear in AIEEE 2010 for consideration of provisional admission. Those appearing in 10+2 (Class 12) in 2011 are not eligible to appear in AIEEE-2010.

Date of Birth:

Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1985 are eligible. However, in the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PH candidates who were born on or after October 01, 1980 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate only will be taken as authentic.

Application procedure: Application can either be made ‘Online’ or submitted on prescribed Application Form only.

Information Bulletin containing Application Form can also be obtained by post from the Assistant Secretary (AIEEE), Central Board of Secondary Education, PS 1-2, Institutional Area, I P Extension, Patparganj, Delhi - 110092 or personally from Regional Offices of CBSE and Designated Branches of Syndicate Bank/other Banks/Designated Institutions.

The Syndicate Bank/other Banks, the designated institutions and Regional Offices of the CBSE will not send the Information Bulletin by Post. Hence, no request should be made to them for sending the Bulletin by Post. Candidate should not buy the Information Bulletin from any private publisher/ vendor as these may be fake Information Bulletins.

The Regional Offices of CBSE, designated branches of Syndicate Banks/Other Banks/designated Institutions are not responsible for any consequences, that may arise due to non-availability of forms in case the copies of application forms are sold out before the last date.

The candidate should get the Information Bulletin containing application forms from the Assistant Secretary (AIEEE), CBSE, PS 1-2 Institutional Area, IP Extension, Patparganj, Delhi-110 092 by post.

The cost of Information Bulletin inclusive of examination and counselling fee for BE/B.Tech only or B.Arch/ B.Planning only is Rs. 450/- for General and OBC candidates and Rs. 225/- for SC/ST candidates. Candidates appearing for both BE/B.Tech and B.Arch/B.Planning together should send their application form along with additional fee in the form of Demand Draft of Rs. 300/- for General & OBC candidates and Rs. 150/- for SC/ST candidates in favour of Secretary, CBSE payable at Delhi/ New Delhi.

For candidates opting examination centre in foreign country, the examination and counselling fees for appearing in BE/B Tech only or B Arch/B Planning only is Rs. 1000/- for General and OBC candidates and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST candidates that includes counselling fee. They should send additional fees @ Rs. 550/- for General and OBC Category & Rs. 275/- for SC & ST Category in the form of demand draft in favour of Secretary, C.B.S.E payable at Delhi/New Delhi. Those who want to appear both BE/B.Tech & B. Arch/B Planning together they should send their application form along with additional fee in the form of demand Draft of Rs.1550/- for General and OBC candidates and Rs. 775/ - for SC/ST candidates in favour of Secretary, CBSE payable at Delhi/New Delhi.

To obtain Information Bulletin containing Application Form by post, candidates should send their request to the Assistant Secretary (AIEEE), Central Board of Secondary Education, PS 1-2, Institutional Area, IP Extension, Patparganj, New Delhi - 110092 along with a bank draft of Rs.500/- for General and OBC Category and Rs. 275/- for SC/ST candidates in favour of The Secretary, CBSE, payble at Delhi/New Delhi and a self-addressed envelope of 12” x 10”. This includes Rs. 50/- towards postal charges.

Candidates appearing for both BE/B.Tech and B.Arch/ B.Planning together should send their application form along with additional fee in the form of Demand Draft of Rs. 300/- for General & OBC and Rs. 150/- for SC/ST candidates in favour of Secretary, CBSE payable at Delhi/New Delhi.

Online submission of application

The online submission of particular may be made at website www.aieee.nic.in . The candidates should supply all the required details while filling up the online form. On submission of details, a Confirmation page with Registration No. shall be generated. Candidates are required to take printout of Confirmation page and paste photographs, put left hand thumb impression and Sign in the space earmarked for the purpose. The confirmation Page is to be sent by Registered/ Speed Post to CBSE and payment can be made as follows:

(a) by credit card, or

(b) Demand Draft from any scheduled commercial bank, or

-Copy of mode of remittance of Examination fee:

In addition to Examination Fee, following Service/ Processing Charges will have to be paid by the candidates.

(ii) For online submission of application with payment through Credit Card …… 2.25% of the examination fee

Scheme of Examination Entrance examination would consist of two papers i.e. 1st paper consisting of three parts of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of equal weightage with objective type questions for BE/B.Tech courses and 2nd paper – consisting of Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing for B. Architecture and B. Planning. The Aptitude Test is designed to evaluate candidate’s perception, imagination, observation, creativity and architectural awareness.

IIT-JEE 2010 Notification

JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION 2010 (JEE-2010)

The Indian Institutes of Technology (popularly known as IITs) are institutions of national importance established through an Act of Parliament for fostering excellence in education. There are fifteen IITs at present, located in Bhubaneswar, Bombay (Mumbai), Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras (Chennai), Mandi, Patna, Punjab, Rajasthan and Roorkee.

Examination Schedule

April 11th, 2010 (Sunday)

Paper 1: 09.00 – 12.00 hrs

Paper 2: 14.00 – 17.00 hrs

Paper-1 and Paper-2 will each have separate sections in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. Both papers will be of objective type, designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates.

Syllabus for this examination will be available on the websites of all IITs.

The candidate will have the option of submitting the application form either on-line or off-line.
